Appreciation Portrait

Assignment # 1

Please watch the video to the right, and answer the questions in complete sentences in a different font color on the google doc assignment on google classroom!

Watch the first video for answers to the questions, then watch the second video to see Kehinde Wiley himself painting and talking about his work. 

Assignment # 2: Appreciation Portrait

You will create a collaged portrait of a person of your choice that you feel needs more appreciation or representation in some way. It must include the following:
  1. The main image is a photo of a person that you feel deserves more appreciation and representation. (I encourage you to make it of a person you know, could be your mom, aunt, sibling, friend etc)
  2. There is a gradient background that combines a bright color with black. 
  3. The main image of the person must be surrounded by at least 5 decorative elements that enhance the regality, nobility, status of that person. (ex. flowers, fruits, foliage) 
  4. There must be an overall filter applied to the portrait at the end.
  5. There must be evidence of work ethic and EFFORT
